I would highly recommend Upstream. Upstream completed 2 projects for us in 2023/24:  a complete remodel of a one-bedroom condo, including gutting a bathroom and kitchen and moving walls, and improvements to a single-family dwelling, including interior and exterior painting, replacing floors and ceilings, plumbing repairs, installation of window treatments, and repair/replacement of window screens. Upstream also replaced flooring damaged by a water leak.
We worked primarily with Isaac Yang, Xiao Wu, and Ryan Zhu. They were very responsive, good listeners, technically capable, and met schedules and budgets. They are also very nice people with whom we enjoyed working. We initially sought 3 bids; Upstream’s was the lowest and lower than the highest bid by 50%. We were very pleased with the finished projects. They design the projects and use materials, consistent with the budget that their clients desire to work within.
Ryan listened to our goals and visions and, in response, provided us with aesthetically-pleasing and practical design recommendations that fit within our budget. He provided digitally-prepared drawings so we could envision the project and updated them as the project proceeded and opportunities arose for improving the design (such as moving a wall to open up a space when it became apparent that the wall wasn’t weight bearing).  Ryan was a great communicator.
